The Ricoh Arena is the new home of Coventry City Football Club and is part of a major leisure complex comprising a hotel, restaurant, health and fitness centre. The stadium itself is an asymmetric bowl with a full lower tier augmented by an upper tier to the West Stand. The stadium roofline is continuous throughout, with the West Stand roof slipped under the high point of the adjoining Arena roof, so that the view is of a single, united building, with a spectacular roofscape that is visible from all around.

The unique feature of the West Stand is the inclusion of the 70-bedroom hotel with its own reception area, lift access, restaurant and all support facilities. The hotel rooms can be converted and used as hospitality boxes on match days. The two-storey gymnasium and fitness centre is in the South West Corner accessed directly from the hotel. Lakesmere was contracted by Laing O'Rourke to design and build the complete envelope package.
