As part of extensive construction programme that is underway in London in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games, two Energy Centres have been created that will provide power for the event and for the subsequent regeneration of East London. With one centre located to the west of the Olympic Park and the other to the east in the Stratford City development, the technically advanced and environmentally considerate power generation buildings have been designed by architect John McAslan & Partners to be embedded into the community rather than hidden from it.

Working alongside main contractor Elyo, a subsidiary of SUEZ Energy Services, Lakesmere’s scope of works included the installation of the innovative new modular Thru-Wall SIPS system, which has been joinlty craeted by Lakesmere and supply chain partners Hemsec Installations, with Cor-ten steel mesh panels and Schüco glazed curtain wall providing the external finish.
