Lakesmere was appointed to undertake various roofing and cladding works for main contractor BAM Construction as part of the creation of Johnstone High School’s new Community Sports Hub. The team was resposible for the design and installation of James and Taylor Eyetech Mesh and Kingspan composite cladding alongside Sarnafil and Kalzip roofing.

The design and installation of the extruded mesh required meticulous attention to detail and millimetre perfect setting out of the support cleats to ensure they were fixed in the correct position as they were all visible from the external face. The challenging installation was successfully delivered as a result of Lakesmere’s engineering expertise and the use of a total station surveying instrument to locate and mark each fixing position.

Where access was limited, in order to ensure that Lakesmere’s package of works was completed without delay, the team had to assess the correct specialist equipment required for the installation process and source the required suppliers.

The new community sports complex, which has been designed by architects Anderson Bell + Christie, boasts a 25m four lane swimming pool, dance studio, fitness gym and a full size synthetic pitch in addition to the existing four court sports hall.
